Since graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) with a BA Honours in dance (2000 – 2004), Aimee Smith has been working as an artist both locally and internationally.

Aimee is inspired by the possibility of using art as a forum for people to share, challenge, question, celebrate and make sense of the world in which they live, and believes in the potential for imaginations to dream up the future. This drives her practice – in both the work she makes and the opportunities she pursues.

CHOREOGRAPHIES
Aimee endeavours to make works that address, challenge and bring into conversation themes and ideas prevalent in current social debate. Her most recent works deal with concepts of the environment, war, fear, and the politics of immigration.

莊哲瑋 ( Chunag Che-Wei, Taiwan )
http://chuang-che-wei.blogspot.com/

His work seems at a first glance to create a space by flat images, but in fact its attention is to express fear and desire by a series of painted fragments which thus constitute a group of films. These anti-Utopia images were derived from mass media such as movies, tv programs, magazines…etc. He shoots the question “what is the movement of discourse in painting” by transforming the style and the appearance of these images to a incessantly and paranoid soliloquize. Through the arrangement of the space and the flow of each individual image, a possible way to observe the “movement” is formed.
