Jiandyin
Jiandyin are duo artists from Thailand. Their art focus on relationship difficulties and the aspect of holding it in balance. Throughout their working period on this subject, they realized the importance of “adaptation” in the nurturing and maintaining people’s relationship with one another. Therefore, they explore processes and visual languages that could construct the idea of “living together as an adaptation”. The processes include collaborative drawing work series title “Dialogue”. It is an ongoing learning process of sharing time and space together within a white empty space.
In 2010, while developing their work in United States, to unfold this learning process and to achieve a wider response, they have expanded their collaborative drawing project by inviting other Thai couple or a Thai person who is married to an American and living in the United States to take part in the project called Dialogue. Their aim is to capture the essence of the adaptation situation between interdependence and mutual adaptation in the relationship.

Jia-Jen Lin was born in Taichung, Taiwan. After graduated from National Taiwan Normal University, she went to Boston in US to pursue her MFA, as well as more possibilities in art and different cultural experiences. Afterwards, she moved to New York to work and strive for continuing her creation for 2 years. Starting from the end of 2009, she moved around different locations for artist residencies to rethink her life and art. She just returned from an artist residency in Australia, selected and sponsored by Taipei Artist Village and Asialink in Melbourne. Lin’s recent creation investigates the psychological distance between artificial life and our physical sensations. By means of combining the features of dreaming— randomness, montage of visual experiences, fragments of memories, she collects, modifies, and represents information and materials from everyday life upon her own intuition. Jia-Jen explores the relationships between objects, our physi¬cal shelves, and the junctures between our dreams and real life, and between our desires and reality.

Jun'ichiro ISHII
Jun'ichiro Ishii was born in 1975 in Fukuoka, Japan. Ishii began his art studies in interior design and fine art, the basics of paintings. Over time, as he gained personal social-cultural experiences, his focus has slowly shifted from paintings to more complex creative activities. After undertaking several projects in Japan, he moved to South Korea in order to discover a different culture and to increase his cultural awareness. After two years of artistic experience in Seoul, he is now living in Paris, France.
Based on a site-specific point of view, Ishii is extremely interested in observing the bare cultural aspects. To precisely pursue his pure impression of the site, he does not have a predetermined method, but adds a symbolic form to the cultural peculiarities he experiences and represents them as a site-specific art piece. To cover the temporality of the site-specific works, Ishii employs the art of video. Not only for archival purposes, but also as independent works of art providing different perspectives and angles of the physical work itself.
